Some of you may remember the photos of my garden I posted earlier. Now I live in a neighborhood, and my garden consists of eleven raised beds that are 4' x 20' all located in the back corner of my yard. For a little weekend fun, My wife asked me to let our 5 year-old daughter sale tomatoes to the neighbors. So we picked a load and placed them in her Radio Flyer wagon. Mom made a few signs and taped to the mailbox. We pulled the wagon to the end of our 30' driveway and set up shop under a small tree. Tomatoes were advertised at 4 for $1. I thought it would be fun for my daughter to earn four or five dollars. Imagine my surprise when I had to go pick more maters. She ended up with $53. Guess where she had me take her, Toys-R-Us. Now she has an interest in helping Daddy garden. What fun we had.

OUTSTANDING! I love to here of folks getting their kids involved with "country life", and just being involved in their childrens lives. THAT'S what life is all about! Sounds like she had a wonderful experience. And so did mom and dad too!

GOOD JOB!

Good story. Kid's make the best salesman one summer my little brother and sister were boared so they had my mom take them to the store and buy some cheap soda and bottled water. They set up shop on the corner of the property which is about 4 miles out of town and sold everything and then some. Needless to say they were hooked also.

That's one of those good memories I'll bet she frequently recalls when she's grown.

One of my fondest memories as a kid was taking a salt shaker to the garden and eating more than I picked:)

Don't forget to teach her economics. Deduct to cost of seed etc. from her $53. Then deduct taxes etc. from the remainder. :D
