I have been buying Preen Garden Weed Preventer from Costco for about $1/lb. The active is 1.47% Trifluralin ... I believe that's Treflan in a much diluted concentration (?)

I've tried to buy granular preemergent at the local farm store (REAL farm store) but all requires a permit and it doesn't seem to be all that better of a price, based on concentration.

Question: any suggestions on a general preemergent that works on weeds that Preen is capable of controlling (or better) for a better price per unit of active ingredient? (I can probably get a land owner applicator's permit if I know what to get)

Thank you, in advance of any help.

Thanks Robert.
Is this what you use, at home and/or in the business you have/had and has it performed as good or better than non-organic? In your experience, is it economical in terms of cost and labor alone?
Cheers!

Try Pendulum 2G, active ingrediant pendamethlin 2%. 40 lbs will cover 20,000 sq ft, last 3+ months. Safe to use in most woody ornamentals, flowers & turfgrasses. Runs about 45 bucks a bag.

KB, thanks!
After looking into it, it looks good at about 1/3 the price of Preen and potentially better product.
