We now have two!!!

Well, we finally got our second JD, and it's awesome! We bought a 2010 last august (for my birthday present) and just this past weekend bought a 4500 with a Long's bucket and grapple. And we are up to about 7 or 8 implements and still growing.

Attached first is when I went out to the site where the seller invited me to take a look at what it can do and what he uses it for.

and the second is the boys eyein each other up! I think the 2010 is a tad bit jealous but we plan to get just as much if not more use out of him too.

oh and by the way, the wife earlier today in front of company comes out and says "play time on the tractor!" I'm like, oh geez, here we go. So I proceeded to walk along side "our" /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif new but used tractor while she "had her play time". She did a row or two of tillin and then had to practice the ol' "watch me pick up a log" thing, ha! I knew that was comin so I had already practiced myself when we got it Friday and I had put the poor little practice log right where she could get it with ease. And presto! she did it! So all's well in new but used tractor land, but the adventure is just beginning! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I believe you may be right about the rough life for the 2010. When we got it it ran but barely, we basically had to give a new tune up, put a pin in the pto thingamajig and it started working like a champ but from the looks of things, we can't tell how much of it has been "modified" or pieced together. All in all though, it's a pretty tough 2010. We've brush hogged about 12 acres so far and plowed about a 1/2 acre with more coming. So it'll hold it's own but definitly not against the young bucks like the 4500. Plus I like the old with the new. Someday I'd like to enter the 2010 in a parade just to be able to say I drove a tractor in a parade. How much more American can you get than that? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thats one heck of a nice birthday present ! Congratulations. I would like to one day pick up an old John Deere for the stable, maybe a restore project for my son and I /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
