Last fall my pasture was completely torn up to put in a geothermal field. My wife was mad as heck about it! They did a pretty good job of smoothing the ground when they were done but they didn't put in any seed... that was my responsibility. I bought a bag of fescue from the local feed store and spread it with a cheapo push spreader. I'm very pleasantly surprised at how well it came back. Now you can't even tell it had been disturbed. And I have very clayey, acidic soil that is supposed to be hard to grow grass in. Grass can be pretty resilient!
