Its a std Chinese wood chipper, not very common her i Norway so i haven't got any info on what to look for.
I'm going to use it on my 60hp Ursus C355 and a MF135 and its just for light duty as most of the wood will be used to make firewood.

Check out the belts. The chinese belts break easy and early. Make sure it looks like it was well greased.

Thanks, is there any weakness in the feeding mechanism?
I believe this has the mechanical feed and not hydraulic feed.

IMGP0079.jpgMine is a Woodmax; I believe it is a similar unit as I downloaded the WC8 usermanual.
It is 1 year old and works very well for how I use it, getting rid of brush while cutting firewood. I chip up to 6 inches.
I had to cut and reweld the hydraulic pump for the feed as the belts were off by 1/2".
Also I can't keep the 8 bolts tight on the main bearing blocks for the flywheel. These bolts use a screw head and there is no way to hold them while torquing the lock nuts without tearing apart the complete machine.

Here is a photo.

Yes, that was a strange way to bolt the bearings.
I have an idea to tear it down and check, locktite and replace important bolts whit new in known quality, its std metric so cost almost zero.

It is still under warranty I thought about calling them and asking advice. I spent 3 hours 2 weeks ago trying to hold the threads with Vise Grips but still couldn't tighten them properly. Maybe a special bolt with an allen or torx head in the stud side would help or spot weld the heads in. Thanks for the advice. I would still buy another one as it works very well for the money.

Emailed Woodmax about this. They called me up the next day to explain that if one cuts a slot in the end of the stud it can be held and tightened with a wrench. Also they explained that the lock nuts used from the factory have a metal insert and not nylock type. All of the new chippers are coming through with nylock nuts this year.

Mine has the type with the metal inserts and all come loose. If you blow up the picture I posted you can see the nut is not the nylock type.

The toplink is a bit strange, must been made for minitractors.

That's great to hear Fred since I just purchased a 8" hydraulic feed chipper from them yesterday. I'm also glad the bearing mount nuts have been changed out. I suppose since you now know what their fix is, it sounds like a good winter project to tear it down and change them out on yours.
