Jim, I have never used one but have a friend who's brother has had a gas on demand unit for years and likes it. My place is all electric so I never checked into them.

They sure do. I don't have any first hand experience with these but they look like a good solution.

I went electric partially due to the sticker shock! and partially due to the fact that I got the biggest electric one I could find in order to act as a water storage tank for my well system.

WOW That is one nice setup but like you Fred that sticker shock is what gets me. It looks like I'll just be going back to the regular ole water heater.
