Hey...brand new BX25D here...no problems with it but filled the tank today and was thinking of other things and left the cap off for a few hours...yup, you guessed it...rain shower came along.

Anyone know what I can put in there to absorb the water? Not sure if dry gas would hurt diesel?

Tank was full and the shower wasn't a downpour or anything but it did rain for a while.

Check your local auto parts store or truck stop for a diesel additive that removes water. I think Power Service is one brand. Just read the labels. A light shower probably didn't get much in the tank.

Does fuel tank have a drain to remove the water? a lot of tractors do.

Tx Jim gave good advice. Inspect the bottom of the tank for a drain plug. If it has one, park the tractor in a position that puts the drain at the lowest point. Allow the tractor to sit still for a little while, and the water will settle to the bottom. Open the drain, and slowly let the water out. You will get some diesel too, but that's unavoidable.

If it doesn't have a drain, then a diesel fuel additive is your next best solution. Just realize, water won't pass through your fuel filter, so you'll probably need to change it soon.

Either way, you need to go ahead and get a couple extra fuel filters. It doesn't take much water to block a diesel fuel filter. They're designed that way. (you really don't want water in your injector system) And, it's good to have an extra filter on hand. Sometimes you just get bad fuel.

Just get siphon hose to drain the tank. Peace of mind is worth a lot more than a few gallons of diesel fuel.

Best to drain and filter through a MR Funnel or other water separator, most fuel additives will emulsify the water and it WILL get sucked through the BX inline filters. I added a B series water separator on my BX2230 and it is catching the excess water not being picked up by the additive and this is all going through the first inline before the fuel pump, so a water separator makes a difference.

Yup...I've been searching online and there are a number of "fuel dryers" for diesel out there...going to go with these. I don't think too much got into the fuel anyway so that's the plan for now. Thanks for researching the schematic for me!
I'm also going to order a Mr Funnel as well...looks like a good product!

Went to my local hardware store and was surprised to find a few "drygas" products for diesel...bought some of this and a fuel conditioner for continued use year round.
Thanks for the suggestions! I'll report if any problems ongoing.
