Water in CAV DPA fuel injection pump

Need help. Retired farmer on sailboat in Marshall islands. I picked up some water in my diesel tank, which filled up my Racor and contaminated the secondary filter on my Perkins 4-236. Changed Racor and secondary filter. Noticed small amount of water in secondary. Bled fuel system and pump. Engine started, ran for 10 seconds, the quit. Re bled system but no fuel out to injectors when cranking. Suspect water in pump. How to I solve this problem?

Fuel injection pump is CAV DPA.

I hate to say it but its a VERY common problem.. I've heard the exact same thing from sail boaters from just about EVERY Island.. & the locals rape them on an overhaul..
Its probably just air bound..
Theres a shut off lever on the pump.. PULL THE THROTTLE WIDE OPEN & work the shut off lever several times while YOUR CRANKING THE ENGINE..
Have the lines loose AT THE INJECTORS while doing this..
Are u bleeding the system at the bleeder screw by the name plate ON THE INJ. PUMP.??

I have taken the injection pump off the engine. On inspection I found the pump vanes are not moving when I rotate the pump drive. I reason that the connection to the vane pump is broken. It needs to be repaired or replaced. Is that your opinion too?

The entire pump needs to be repaired or replaced.. the head & rotor is locked up..
The H&R is the most expensive part in the pump.. its the MAIN pumping unit..
If u have time & would like to ship it.. I'd be happy to repair it for u..
Sometimes its less expensive to replace the entire pump than it is to replace the H&R..
U HAVE TO get the #'s off the name tag on the pump..
