Last fall, we put off several of the "bombs" in the hunting cabin, and then three more in the attic entrance.
First time, we found thousands of wasps on the dead on the floor.
Next time, alot less, still some though.

I can't easily get UP into the attic to the actual nests.
We've had a pretty cold winter, but I keep finding some dead or dazed wasps scattered around the floor of the house.
Of course, I'd like to get this done now before Spring is fully upon us and I have deal with it greater.

So, should I keep doing the bombs when I leave?

Other ideas?
This place has been abandoned for about the past decade, we've fixed it back up and staying some weekends.

Can actually see the nests, though you can't get to them??????..................If so, the wasp/hornet spray that the box stores sell shoots a spray 20' or so.....You are on a long term project here; but if you keep zapping the nests themselves you are going to kill the larva each time you SOAK those nests..........Keep at it Bud.......God bless..........Dennis

Oh, that's the problem.
I can't see the nests.
And thanks for the blessing. I'll take all I can get!

Seal up the access points. You can watch to see where they are intering/exiting and seal them. If they cannot get in they cannot build a nest.
Bomb and spray some 12 month bug killer up there also.

Good luck

Hmmmmmm ... Hire some unfortunate exterminator and let him deal with it :)

They are very lethargic first thing in the morning and you can do pretty much anything you want around them. Once it warms up, watch out. If I know they are around, I get to them at first light. I like to find the nest and spray it with wasp spray.

Don't buy the cheap stuff - you'll only make them angry. Get Raid Wasp&Hornet in the black can ... or run for your life.

Raid? Har. Get the Spectracide B&W wasp can from HD . "Pro" grade. whether it is truly "pro" or not, I don't know, but it sure works.

Poison works good, better if you'll be away for awhile. It's all covered with skull & crossbones for a reason though, I'd have second thoughts in a living space.

If you can see it use a shop vac, duct tape a 10' stick of 2" PVC pipe and suck them up and the whole nest too. Remove the filter for more flow. They attack the end of the pipe that's closest to the nest, then get sucked in. Pretty much ignore the human at the other end. They're dead when they smack into the 'fence' (at 100 mph) inside the vac - same as hitting a car windshield.

That sounds like it might be sort of fun. But be sure they are wasps and not black hornets. In my experience, black hornets do not ignore the human and in fact seek him out and will give chase relentlessly.
