Washing Potatoes in a Dishwasher....or....Another Fine Mess I'm In !!

Wife has volunteered me to help her cater an early supper/late lunch at the extension office.

It is going to be a "Baked Potato Bar" for a group of old people doing estate planning. Forty eight people are attending plus presenters.

We bought all the stuff she needs for the "Baked Potato Bar" tonight at Sam's Club and Walmart. Took me thirty minutes to haul it all in.

My job is to carry heavy stuff and wash all 52, yes fifty two, HUGE FREAKING POTATOES. These monsters weigh 15-7/8 ounces each.

Heh, heh,.... I'm gonna wash them in the dishwasher. Put it on the rinse cycle and let 'er rip. They will be washed in record time.

Gotta remember to turn off the heat dry or they may be cooked too soon.

My questions are 1) should I put in extra soap? They are really dirty, and 2) will the rinse aid (JetDry) keep them shiny?

She's gonna be so proud of me!!

Whatever could go wrong???

Reminds me of Euell Gibbons, (sp?) of pine needle and GrapeNuts fame, who used his wife's washing machine to make sumac juice.

Dump them in sink and use a plastic bristle brush like most people. No soap,soap is for grease and oil.

There's also a pressure washer. Lay the potatoes out on the driveway or a porch and turn on the pressure washer.

Put them in bucket of front end loader, fill with water, drive down bumpy road, dump out water, your work is done !
A crafty guy could justify a new tractor as well !

If that dirty I would not wash them in anything that puts the dirt in your septic system. Besides old buzzards need dirt in their gizzards too
