After spending many a hours going through this fine forum I finally decided on a NH tc29/33dahst. I have 5 acres in north florida with a home just being finished. I decided it would be best to buy there since that is where the tractor will be used. I called the dealer in that area. He informed me he had a new tc33dahst on the lot. Quoted me a price of 18,200 with 14la loader and r4 tires. I skipped a day of work (dealer open mon-fri) and left at 5:00am so I couold be there when he opened at 9:00. When the salesman took me over to the machine I almost dropped a load. He proceeded to show me a tractor that appeared to be used. He assured me it was "new" and never "titled".
A list of things I noticed
61 hours on meter
softball size scrape on fender.
deep scratches in the plastic piece next to the pedal. As if someone had a nail sticking out of their shoe while operating it.
powder coating on black loader support pieces chipping off and replaced by rust
places along tractor and loader touched up by a brush.
bottom of tractor looked like it was run through a "sippi" hole.
I was becoming extremely dissappointed. He knew I was driving from four hours away. He could of mentioned some of this.
He excused himself so he could help a "be-back". I decided to go to lunch. Wouldn't you know there was a green dealer right down the road. Spent lunch there.
Went back to the NH dealer to discuss the price. Salesman handed me the sales sheet with 18,800 written on it. I reminded him of our phone conversation. He tried to use the rebate as an excuse for the misunderstanding. I made it perfectly clear I was interested in the 0% for 48 months. Than he started with the "if I could would you" crap that these salesman get from their once a year seminars.
Bottom line 18,000 for the tractor.
Based on the prices I've seen on this forum that would be high for "brand new tractor".
Any thoughts???
Please don't tell me it will get sratched and dented while I use it. Those will be MY dents and scratches.

Larry239:

Welcome to TBN :D! You have probably read some of my posts where I state that Dealer "feel" is important as tractor "feel". I do not "feel" good about your experience
with this dealer :(! Your offered price is about what I paid for my brand new NH TC29DA with a QA 14LA FEL and a HD 60" bucket with a bolt-on cutting edge. I also had the R-1's weighted. (My price seemed high, but it was also a function of my region. I did get a good trade in on my old Ford 1100 4WD.). I had less than an hour on the machine. I did have those scratches near the rocker foot pedal and some rust on the bucket, but I decided that I could live with the rust and those minor scratches as that part of the cowling is plastic. It sounds like that tractor has seen some flood water. The price may be "right" for a slightly used TC33 in good shape in my area, but I do not get a good feeling about those tractor hours, tractor condition, and most importantly that dealer. I like your choice of tractors. I really like mine. Maybe you should pay a call on some other NH dealerships. Hang in there- Jay

Larry,

It sounds like you have a real "beaut" of a dealer. I would show them my back and keep walking. I can't imagine that you will EVER feel deep pride of ownership in that tractor. If yor aren't happy with a tractor on the lot, you won't be happy with it in your shed.

Are there any Kubota dealers in the area? (Had to put in a plug for my fav color!)

If not, check out the other colors. And even other NH dealers. They do make good machines.

Larry239,

I don't know why your even still considering this tractor. This Dealer is trying to take advantage of you. At 61 hours, obviously the Dealer lent this tractor out or used it for his own purposes around the lot.

Walk away.

After the sales seminar comment, I either would have gotten extremely sarcastic or just told him to stick it. I'm thinking stick it.

I'd walk away after I asked where the nearest JD/Case/Kubota (or better yet NH) dealer was located.

Larry239,

I agree with the others. Walk away from this deal and dealer. It's bad dealers like this that give the good dealers black eyes.

I would pass on that deal stick to ya gut feeling when you first saw it --no DEAL

How was the JD Dealer?
You can't go wrong going --Green -Orange or my fav Blue.

Is there any other NH dealer in the new area?
try the zip code locator..

Thanks for your responses. The Jd dealer in that area was very helpful but selling off an empty shelve. He of course can order me one. I started a thread on the JD side asking about a particular unit. There are only 5 NH dealers in the North west part of Florida. I really thought I had narrowed the choice to the tc. There is a dealer here in South Florida with a tc34dahst but he wants full msrp with no discount.
During my search of these threads I noticed alot of writing about two NH dealers in North Carolina. Is it worth buying there and shipping the unit to Florida. If someone has done this did you have any problems with warranty/service work at the local dealer??

What part of north west Fla?? There are several dealers in Fla and GA that I know of, and probably some in Ala, depending on how far west you go.
