Went to my local dealer as it is time for a fluid change and all they are carrying is Warren Coastal Premium AW 32 hydraulic oil. Said they no longer carry the Ambra except in motor oil. That they have had better luck with the Coastal.

Thoughts?

This is the Coastal http://www.warrenoil.com/MSDS-Spec/PDS/Coastal/PDS - Coastal Premium AW Hydraulic Oils.pdf
I think this would be fine in straight hydraulic applications but you would not want to use it where it runs in common with differentials, transmissions, wet brakes, etc. It could raise havoc with gears and brakes.

Coastal has another product called ULTRA UNITRAC T303 which I think is supposed to be similar to Ambra 134 fluid.

As long as it says "recommended for tractors that share a common reservoir for transmission, hydraulics and BRAKES it will work and work well. You could go with a thicker oil like AW46 if the oil is thinning too much in hot weather

aw 42/46 is NOT utf oil.

it's jack oil.

you use a utf in diffy, trannies, final drives.. front axles.. etc.

That is what I was saying, it's only for hydraulic apps.
They have the Coastal utf T303 in AutoZone by us, $46 for 5 gal. It says it meets the m2c134d Ford/NH specs.
The AW (antiwear hydraulic) stuff would be fine for your jack, even the cheaper R&O stuff, but I wouldn't use it in a tractor sump.
You could probably put any of these oils in a jack, but I really don't know jack about that.

OP Rumors, what were you going to be using it in?

I went to the local NH dealer to buy fluids to change everything on my newly aquired TZ25DA. They pointed me to the Coastal for the trans / hydraulics. When I asked about Ambra 134 they said the Coastal AW32 is all they use anymore.

I read the bottle and it didn't say anything about tractors or hydro transmissions so I didn't buy any.

They did have the Ambra motor oil but even service said they use the Coastal AW 32 for the NH tractors in the hydro units.

The more I look I think I will find a different fluid.

PsRumors, I'm not going to say the oil your dealer recommended is bad, but for the dollars, why not go with the Coastal oil that you know is a good substitute or even go to Tractor Supply and buy their premium transmission fluid that is a mult-grade fluid? If you have concerns, then to me that is reason enough to keep looking. Buy what you know is right. Confidence in the right product is a softer 'pillow' to sleep on.

I'll go ahead and say it. That oil is absolutely NO GOOD for tractor applicatios, period. Warren may make an oil that is suitable, but THAT ISN'T IT!
The person at that dealership responible for that decision is a fool.
I sell Ambra 134 as well as another oil that is formulated for that type of use. Nothing particularly wrong with that. But selling a straight hydraulic oil for tractor applications is not going to be a successful enterprise for anyone in the long term.
