Hi, everybody.

Which are the differences between Warn winches XT30, Vantage 3000-s and ProVantage 3500-s? Aside from 500 lb more for the last one, of course.

Which one would be the best for an RTV900?

I will use the RTV on very steep clayish hills at high altitude (5000 to 8500 ft).

Thanks for the input.

Warn Industries - How to choose the right winch

From the q/a section on the link above:
Q:
"I am looking at putting a warn winch on my new Honda 420PG. (2500 lbs) My Question is what is the difference between a ProVantage winch to the RT Or XT. Does the pro also have a 3 stage planetary gear train like the XT or RT. Is it a cheaper "newer" design or does it replace the XT and RT. Confuse!
A:
"All of our powersports winches have the three-stage planetary geartrain. The ProVantage winches are the newest models, and are replacing the XT/RT lineup. In addition, we have added the Vantage line, which has a more affordable price. "

The Pro vantage has better parts in it, probly has a better warranty. I have 3 warn winches, a m 8000 on my jeep, tabor 12000 on my silverado, and a xt 30 on my crew ranger, usually, with warn, the cheaper winches have less warranty. I think for your Rtv you would be better off with a 4000 or 4500 # warn winch, if you plan on winching alot. RTVs are heavy. The xt 30 at 3000 #'s was minimal for my ranger crew. It works okay, but the dealer had it stock at the time and I didnt want to wait for the 4000# winch which was on backorder. People wil disagree on this, but a good rule of thumb is you need a winch at least 2 the weight of the rig its going on. My theory is by the biggest you can afford:D. You can always get a snatch block to double that also. They will make it easier on the winch. LUTT
