wanting to buy tractor with front end loader

Hi Guys and girls, I am looking to purchase a tractor with possibly a front end loader. I am very new to tractors and have only owned one about 20 years ago, a International. I have about 3 1/2 acres of yard i am going to be taking care of (just bought) and it has a part gravel and stone and sand driveway that needs some smoothing out besides the yard has many low spots that need attention. I live in the middle of Florida but i am willing to travel up to 500 miles for a real nice piece of equipment that will work for me. if it is a nice tractor with a good box blade ,that would also probably work fine. I do not want to spend too much as money is a issue, so if anyone knows or has something please respond, Thanks, Dan

You will be better off seeking a used mainstream brand tractor in Florida rather than a grey market tractor anywhere.

Have you determined what size tractor will meet your needs? What is your budget?

Craig's List is a good place to look for tractor bargains but BUYER BEWARE in unmonitored Craig's List marketplace.

You cannot pull a trailer behind a truck for less than $1.00 per mile, so one round trip of 500 miles will cost you $1,000 minimum, plus hotel and meals; and you will not have insurance on the load.

Have you thought this out?

Most Fords, in good condition, are fine. Ford pioneered the modern tractor in the USA. Ford tractors are no longer produced so you may be able to negotiate a bargain. Ford tractor parts are readily available.

Not all Greys are created equal. I own a grey. it's not a bastard nor an orphan.

Thanks guys, after reading your reply's i probably will not be able to afford a tractor with a loader as it does add quite a bit to the cost. I could work with a box blade or a pull blade but thought the loader would be useful at times. like i said money is a issue and $5000.00 is maximum that i can afford and that would have to have the necessary attachments with it and i do not need a mower or bush hog. why do you call tractors orphans and grey?

May I suggest a Yanmar 186, or a Yanmar 187D.

Solid tractor. Easy to work on. Durable. Budget friendly.

I you have time to search for a tractor, are somewhat mechanically inclined you can find what your looking for with a loader in your price range used. Heed jeff9366's advice though and beware of money pits.
