New Holland Boomer
I have come by a New Holland 17LA loader boom here in the UK. However it doesn't have a mouting frame to fit it to a tractor.

I wondered if anyone had any ideas where I might be able to come by one and get it shipped to the UK...

Thanks in advance :)

What about a joystick and hydraulics?

New Holland sells both the subframe and loader post mounts as a kit and the hydraulics as a kit. They will run around $1000 each.

BTW: Your post is a little bit "info lacking." Do you have a SuperSteer tractor? The 17LA is specifically made for a Class III Boomer with SuperSteer. To clear the front axle, it sticks out about 1 foot more than the 16LA which is the loader for non-SuperSteer tractors.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your reply. I can get the hydraulic kit and joystick over here as the kit is identical to that supplied with front linkages. So it is only the mount frame I need.

I have a Boomer 3040 hydro supersteer with supersuite cab. I don't think the tractor model is the same in the US so its a 41hp class III unit.

Thanks

Graham, I failed to say :welcome: to TBN.

The fact that your tractor is the later model 3040 with cab and supersteer would make me very cautious. The 17LA loader was built for the earlier TC35D/TC40D/TC45D model tractors prior to the factory supersuite cabs. New Holland changed loader manufacturers and I'm not sure if the current tractors have the exact mounting configuration. They probably do, but you need to know for sure before buying that 17LA. The current model of loader for your tractor should be the 260TL, specially made for supersteer. I can tell that you have a good grasp of what is needed for this job and I don't see anything especially wrong except you will have a unique tractor like no other. Since it's all NH equipment, it should not void any warranties and you can get all parts serviced at your dealer, but I'd make sure about the warranty before installation.

If you get it mounted, I'd sure like to see a picture if you can post one here.

Hi Jim,

Thank you for the welcome :D

The loader boom has come into my posession for essentially nothing (long story), hence why I am keen to try and utilise it! As far as I can make out, the mountings have not changed from the TC series to the Boomer series. In any case I have a reasonable comprehensive workshop, so should be able to modify the framework to fit - I just need the starting point. I have considered manufacturing my own mounts, but at present I am unable to get hold of the original manufacturers specifications with which to take measurements.

I am not so concerned about warranty since as long as the loader is of appropriate size to the tractor (which it is) and the installation doesn't effect any other componetry then I'm covered. New Holland do not supply their own loaders here in the UK, so all loader tractors are supplied with aftermarket solutions - hence the more relaxed attitude to the warranty in this area.

Its hugely frustrating, I have a loader boom, I have a bucket, I can source a hydraulic kit off the shelf, but yet I cannot get hold of a set of mounts for love or money :( At this rate I will be forced to scrap a perfectly good loader boom and purchase a full aftermarket loader!! If I cannot find anything used via auction sites or forums, then my next step will be to approach a dealer in the US to see what the cost of exporting a kit would be - I fear it will cost more than the loader, at which point I will be forced to scrap it i guess.

Of course the attachment is what you need. The kit is: Mount Kit {715782026}

I'm not sure if it is available in the UK or if it ever was since these were manufactured in the USA.

...thats the one, unfortunately it was never available in Europe. I'm not even sure how this loader has ended up in the UK - I imagine it probably came in on an imported tractor. I have spoken to a friend in the parts system in the UK who tells me it is impossible to get that way. I have also spoken to a contact at the Dublin tractor factory, they scrapped all the old sub frames they had. I've tried chasing a dealer in Dakota who had one in his yard, but he won't return my calls or emails. I'm running out of ideas now! My latest avenue (believe it or not) is a friend in New Holland Australia, who thinks he might be able to get one sent to me since they used them there!!

I was really hoping someone might reply to this thread, having got one stashed in the back of a barn somewhere...
