That's getting to be a normalcy around here anymore regarding JD, that's my quandary, have a 1987 JD 855 which I love, but local jd tractor mechanic told me if you blow the front axle it's toast. I realize that JD can't keep every single part in stock, and but they can't mothball the machines and get orders enough they can do a run of parts needed in the field? Looked at Yanmar because of my 855 and was impressed. We walked the fair, looking at new tractors, even looking at John Deere, plastic fenders on all the models I touched. So thinking of updating to nearlynew or to new tractor, was at the fair looking at Yanmar and Kioti and Deere. Just bought a 60" tiller would like rear tires to be within that measurement.
Or thinking maybe I should put some more money into mine instead, like check pump pressure, new SCV and new or adjusted reliefs for tractor and loader and backhoe. My other thoughts I was thinking of updating just the backhoe to a Woods BH80 maybe with it's own Hydralic kit instead of running thru tractor. Going to need full under frame from Woods, do they match my original frame from John Deere or do they do a complete new mock-up of a frame? I do have a 60" Woodmax Snowblower and it's heavy, I can raise it, but it's almost maxing out my 3 point hitch. Can you fellas give me some feedback back and thoughts?
Have 3 acres in upstate New York above Albany and do digging for trees and such, mowing, small amount of wood hauling with bucket, and of course tilling, snowblowing, absolutely love the snow. My Dad started that illness when I was very young when he bought an old Snowbird Snow thrower 3 1/2 horse power, that's when "IT STARTED" ..there's something about moving snow with a powerful machine is very alluring to me.
