As the tag line says, I’d like to make a split pipe attachment for my fel so it doesn’t dig into my gravel driveway and surrounding grass when clearing snow this winter. I have some metal pipe lying around but wonder what diameter is best for this? Tried snow clearing without the pipe last year and it didn’t go well.

I bought Edge Tammers about 3 years ago, they work great, very quick and easy to install or un install, no holes to drill, no welding, just a simple 3/4 inch wrench to install or remove them.

But it does seam like quite a few folks have done the pipe thing and report being happy with the results.

I think the pipe idea is ok on a snow plow but do you mean putting it on the actual front loader bucket? If so that will probably be something you love part of the time and hate the other half of the time

Also interested, as I want to do the same for my utv plow blade...
For my FEL, I use an Edge Tamer knockoff. (sorry ET)
ET design works great for when my gravel driveway isn't frozen yet. I would go with the ET.

Never tried that, but if I did I'd try 2"ID SCH40. Slit it so it goes over the edge. Weld a tab on each end that bolts to the inside of the cheek of the FEL bucket with one bolt each.
