Just want something for the occasional ladder and long lumber.
Good 2x4's and hardware would probably cost me about $100. I don't weld and don't have the resources in Northern Virginia to build my own.
Lowes has a TracRac
for $285 after discount, but the company says it won't be high enough to clear the cab. Didn't say how much it lacked, but it does fit an F150.
The tracrac is light and easily removable. It looks like after you get the little pieces assembled getting it off/on the truck only takes about 5 minutes.
Anybody know of another solution in the $300 price range?
And while I'm on it, has anyone taken a standard ladder rack like this and built walls in it?
