Another project, a garden wagon type cart for displaying pumpkins, gourds etc. I need to make an axle. I need it to roll but it wont really be hauled around, just needs to be moveable. Any ideas on fabbing a simple axle? I don't have a welder but do have all kinds of saws etc. Didn't know if maybe a landscape timber trimmed down would work. Ideas? A good portion of the outside of the wheel diameter is 2 1/4 and then part of the inside diameter is over 3".

Your link isn't working for me, so I can't see what you plan on using for wheels

If you want really cheap, buy a length of threaded rod the diameter of inside of the wheels you will use. Then use two bolts tightened together on either side of the wheel to hold it in place. Then just use a 2x4 or some other piece of lumber with a hole in it to hold the axle in place.

Tractor Supply has rod blanks and wheels. That's where I would start, unless you need to use the wheels you have.

running gear = the wheels / frame work of a hay wagon... some running gear gets re-purposed to other things. www.tractorhouse.com you might find something locally and cheap

a generic regular trailer you tow behind trucks and like. hit craiglist.org ((use SearchTempest: Search all of Craigslist nationwide & more to search multi cities at one time))

some sort of metal frame work to hold wheels in place on larger setups is normally wanted / required. when you start relying on lumber to hold wheels. you can get yourself in a whole bunch of trouble after the first couple times of moving it around property. and the lumber will start coming apart.

small little say wheel barrows is one thing, but once you get past a certain area were you start towing stuff, and wood just becomes very ugly.
