I have a 30 gal gas caddy with electric pump. I had the 3/4 rubber hose for about 4-5 years and it is so stiff that can hardly be bent. I was looking at a braided clear PVC vinyl at Amazon and I wonder if it would be a better choice for replacement. Any experience with this vinyl fuel hose?

Buy a hose that is rated for fuel oil use. In this type of material, you get what you pay for. High quality hose costs!

The various vinyl fuel hoses I've used all get stiff after a while.

I do not mind paying more if they would last. Any links?

My solution was to buy radiator coolant hose as it is designed for oily greasy environments and can handle fuel.
Works for me and I am in a cold winter area.

yep, I've a 3/4 inch piece of radiator hose also. 3 years and counting, no hard hose yet flex still same.

I have used tygon for fuel but over time it gets stiff. For the last few years I've been buying Gates fuel hose from O'Reilly auto parts. I get the standard stuff, not the fuel injection rated hose.

The standard Gates hose is rated for diesel, gas, and E85. Their info says it can even be submerged in all these fuels.

Yes also tried Tygon and poly, must be a chemical reaction with fuel that hardens them.
Silicone hose would do well except for the cost.

Yup.

If you go to a an industrial hose supplier, and tell them exactly what you want to use it for, they will supply the correct type of hose. I cannot advise somewhere for you to go in the US, as I am located in Australia.

Right now I have modified a 5Kw gasoline standby power generator to run off natural gas. I need a length of low pressure flexible hose for the gas, but have absolutely no idea what kind of approved type of hose I should get for it. But I know exactly where to go and who to ask. Just have not done it yet.
