Vine borers in squash and zucuinni

Pulled up two plants this morning. Another is producing but barely.. I've used a VEG malathion spray. Anybody got a remedy..

A google search will provide several possible methods of killing the borers...I've even waited until dark and used a flashlight to shine through the vines and kill the them with an ice pick...

The culprit is the vine borer moth that looks like a wasp...they lay their eggs in the soil and they will keep coming back unless eliminated...
