I decided there is no way I am going to breath diesel exhaust fumes so I made a vertical exhaust stack for my Beaver. It may be a little over kill but I don't like a vibrating exhaust pipe. Eventually it will break the pipe from fatigue. Also the exhaust manifold bolts get stressed with a vibrating pipe so this bracketry secures the pipe and also supports the exhaust manifold. Now I have to figure out how to use the tractor.

Used to have something along those lines but withotu the bracing. Overall, i was less than pleased so eventually I installed a custom header and glass pack. I need to cut that "muffler" off and replace it with something quieter.

Looks nice. I go under too many low branches to work for me. I know what you mean about the fumes though.

If it's solidly built, the low branches won't mean much unless they are so thick they'll knock you off your tractor. In which case, you ought not be there in the first place. :D

Yes, branches are a problem. One of the reasons I routed it back toward the driver: I wanted to be able to stand up and reach light branches so they wouldn't end up whipping me in the face as I push past them. It is a trade off; on the positive side I can spend 4 hours on the tractor and not walk away with a head ache and God knows what else. It is a little quieter also which I like. Because over the years I have breathed in a lot of dust, grinding particles, welding fumes, etc.; I have become more sensitive (I wish I was a little more careful with my lungs in my younger days). For me it was either this or wear a respirator.

If you chop off about 1' of that you'll find that very little smoke will get in your face and it will give you a little more clearance.

I tend to agree on the height. I don't find I get smoke in my face when operating either.

Of course, I am also somewhat short so that may have something to do with it.

Why don't tractor exhausts just run to the rear of the machine.????? Is there a reason for the front application?

I don't know about you, but I'm pretty sure any exhaust directed to the rear on my tractors would get crushed very quickly. But I don't just drive on grass.
