I just read an ad in my latest issue of MOTOR TREND magazine, it is for Valvoline's Nexgen motor oil, which they say is 50% recycled motor oil. The ad shows it is available in both conventional and high mileage formulas.
It will be interesting to see how it is priced when compared to conventional motor oils that use virgin crude oil as a base, and also how an engine maker will interpret any warranty issues that might be a result of using a "recycled" motor oil. I do applaud the concept, because as a do it yourselfer, I have changed and recycled hundreds of gallons of oil over the last thirty years.
Any comments?
