Hi has anyone adjusted the valve clearance on a CK20 HST? I"m looking for the cover you take off to see the timing marks on the flywheel. One other problem I'm having is tractor is always on the full mark for fuel. I have taken the float assembly out and bent the float rod so the float rides more in the middle of the tank and still stays on the full mark. When I had the float assembly out I could move the float up and down and it would register on the fuel gauge just won't work in the tank. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

These are a common fail. Make sure you have the float rod in the tank so that it will drop down to the lower level in the back of the tank and not get hung up on the upper level closer to the front. I ended up buying a new unit after bending it every which way to Sunday did't work. It even passed the ohm test shown in the shop manual but just kept reading full. The new one is still working, knock wood.

From the CK20 manual:

"The flywheel is installed on the rear end of the crankshaft
and keeps the flywheel turning at a constant
speed. While the crankshaft tends to speed up during
the power stroke it slows down during other strokes.
The flywheel has a ring gear (1), which meshes with
the drive pinion of the starter. The flywheel has marks
“TC” and “FI” on its outer rim. The mark TC shows the
piston’s top dead center and the mark FI shows the
fuel injection timing, when they are aligned with the
mark of window on the clutch housing."

The "window" appears to the on the upper right side of the clutch bell housing.

the fuel gauge reads full unless told otherwise. There is a quick disconnect in a wire that runs from your fuel sensor to the fuel gauge it hangs freely near the fuel filter. if that connection is faulty the signal will not get to the fuel gauge that is by default registering full. it could very well be any break in that wires connection. I had been constantly plague by that plug. a bit of dielectric grease keeps the moisture out which works for me.

I haven’t adjusted the valves on anything since 1975.

I do.
If it calls for a valve adjustment in the owners manual, I check it. Not always as often as the manual calls for, but I do eventually check them.
I checked the valves on my UTV a while back and 3 exhaust valves were out of spec tight.
Just checked the valve adjustment on my zero turn this winter, 1 exhaust valve was slightly out of spec, but not bad.
