Has anyone had experience with TSC CountyLine boom sprayers for ATVs and UTVs? I'm looking for something that I can spray sections of my pasture with weed killer, and possibly some of my smaller fields. I'm looking at 2 of the boom sprayers they have...

CountyLine® 25 Gallon Deluxe ATV Sprayer with 7 Nozzle Boom - Tractor Supply Online Store

CountyLine® ATV Sprayer, 25 gal. - Tractor Supply Online Store

Anyone have thoughts or experience? I have a 15 gallon spot sprayer that I use from TSC. Seems to work ok, but it was much cheaper than these boom rigs.

I have a 40 gallon boomless sprayer that I can put on my gator that works pretty good. I went with the boomless fan type sprayer as some of the spraying was in wooded areas when I was creating some habitat areas. I preferred it so as not to snag the booms, it has three spray nozzles, the outside 2 are directional and can be directionally and volume controlled. Maximum spray pattern is about 20 feet. I don't remember the brand and it is on the other side of the farm in a barn. I bought the rig as well as the gator at Central Equipment in Lexington, KY. That was about 10-12 years ago. It also has a wand to use for spot spraying. It will spray as pretty good stream about 30'. I use it as a mini fire truck when I am burning brush piles. One of my better acquisitions. I realize this is probably too late for your needs, but I stumbled across your post and thought I would share this.

Thanks, I'm trying to decide between boom or boomless. I'm doing mostly fields, so I'm leaning more towards boom

I have a small 15 gal sprayer with 2 spray tips on a boom. It was on a little trailer to tow behind a lawn tractor or ATV. it would only spray about 6 ft, so I took the wheels and tongue off and use it in the back of my mule. It will spray about 8 ft wide and I also added a wand to spot spray.

If I had to buy a new one now, I would go with the boomless and spray wand combo. Like KYDan said- 3 tips will spray 20 ft and are directional.

I also have a Fimco boomless I bought at the local farm store for around $400.00 about 3 yrs old used to spray 3 1.5 acre sweetcorn patches and a lot of round up this year with the hand held sprayer. I also have to go through a lot of timber to go through it is nice to have the boom less for that. It did well in the open field although the wind could affect the pattern I did not have that problem.

Two of our neighbors that border our property have Sprayers on their Gators. Both neighbors use an extended wand. One bought his at TSC, but I don't know where the other neighbor purchased his. Both have horses and one also has about 10 head of Angus. They spray around the fences and the area around the barns and outbuildings. I think that using the extended wand helps them do a better job regarding their needs. Best wishes.

I got one of these to spray 2-4-D : NorthStar ATV Boomless Broadcast and Spot Sprayer 26 Gallon, 5.5 GPM, 12 Volt | Broadcast Spot Sprayers| Northern Tool + Equipment
So far have used it for everthing but !
I put it in the RTV with the pressure washer, slick as a bean !
Used it to water some new plantings at the end of the driveway.
Sprayed the apple trees.
Washed out everthing at tbe chicken coop .

I made up an adaptor to put the boomless sprayer into the reciever hitch and stuck a big truck battery in the bed to run the pump. I put a trickle charger on it after useing the sprayer and don't have to worry about running the RTV battery down if I am just sitting spraying without the motor running.

So the downside of boomless is that it drifts. If you don't want whatever getting somewhere it shouldn't, you need the boom. I have a boomed system with a wand. I can do my field spraying, then hit the trees as needed. Downside of the both in a field setting is keeping track of where you have been and not overlapping, nor missing. Guys use foam markers to help the process.

As I said, I have a boom system (and a boomless for the quad, but long story that involves the wife). The boom system works great except my tractor has a certain amount of drift / leakdown in the hydraulics. So you have to be careful and pay attention to the height. Also with a boom pay attention where you are at. I have bent mine a few times catching trees and buildings.

Also, you need a tractor with a solid alternator. If you have weak electrics the electric pump can play havoc on your system
