All last year I started carrying an AR 15-22, and sometimes an AR 5.56 in the utv. I've had last year several guineas killed by coyotes, they've become a real problem. Have not resorted to trapping, to many dogs etc run around here. I have a Mule Pro FXT, 2 seats. I typically laid the rifles on the front or back seat. Well...not working well. Many times they have fell into the floorboard, I've broken some scopes end caps etc. So I need a way to carry these better. BUT...I have one big requirement, access has to be very QUICK.
In researching, I see several racks that many like, but the downfall of every one of them is straps etc etc that hold them in place, and access is not at all quick. One is different...Sure Grips. You push the gun in, no straps, and simply pull it out. Problem is I can find no one that has used them or know anything about them. I want to know if they work as advertised or aren't worth a darn.
One rack that I haven't fully researched is the Texas Hold em. Seems everybody really like this one, but here again not sure how quick the access is. I am in fact going to call them to learn more...see if they have an overhead rack solution. Anyone have experience with Sure Grips...or know of a solution that will give me that quick access.
I prefer overhead...not in the way, plus I have a dog with me 100% of the time, and don't want him jumping over/thru any floor mounted rack.
