Uses for Clear Duct Tape?

I assume Clear Duct Tape is good for the 1,001 uses that grey duct tape fills, but wondering what other uses you may have found for the Clear Tape? Used the clear tape to repair the rear lens on my tractor. Broke it with the loading ramps.

I think it's just packing tape, but like those of us who eat egg pie rather than quiche, Penokee thinks duct tape just sounds better.

It was reckomended to me to use when putting wrapping a house with a vabor barrier. I still staple, but using the clear duct tape really improved the seal until the brick work was done. For that job, it worked very well.

Isn't progress a wonderful thing!!!!!

I could use it to fix my recliner. My wife has been on at me to get rid of it for over a year. I will admit that it is getting a "little" bit scruffy and tired but we've been together for over 15 years. We've grown old together. I just can't bring myself to do it. Many's the time I've come in from outside and just collapsed into it. Many is the evening that I've dozed off with a book on my stomach before waking with a jolt when it slips off on to the floor. The shape of my stomach these days stops the book from lodging there too long. I kick back in my little "nest" surrounded by my tractor books and catalogues and I'm a happy little camper. It's even nursed me through bouts of back pain when I couldn't lay in bed. Whatever I've done it's always supported me. No, that recliner and I have spent too much quality time together just to get rid of it. It's inhuman but somehow, I don't think she's going to go for the clear duct tape "fix" either. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ah well, I suppose there are other uses for it around here. Gotta get me some.!!!!!!!

Clear duct tape has vastly more testosterone than <font color="pink">packing tape</font> /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ain't it the truth? My nice black leather one has to hide in an upstairs office, it's not allowed downstairs in the den where someone might see it! Then she get's upset when I'm upstairs sitting in it to watch TV!

A good use for clear tape is if your cutting wood with a saber, band or scroll saw is to put this over the line. The tape acts as a blade lubricant and will not cause the wood to burn when making turns. I'm not sure how well this would work with the clear duck tape but works great with cheap 2 inch clear packaging tape.

I have had the same recliner since 1967 and the wife finally nagged me enough about it that I gave it to a neighbor. He put it out on the deck and that is where it has been for the last year. I know that he wants to throw it out, but doesn't want to offend me. The funny thing is that it is no worse for wear being in the weather. I am thinking of going to get it and put it in the garage for when I am reading a manual. Slowly she is trying to make me get rid of everything that I had before her. I on the other hand am thinking of getting rid of everything that she came with including herself. Used to be that a mans home was his castle and the wife was supposed to keep it clean. Now the wives think that they are in charge of the castle and that the men shouldn't have any say in how it is decorated or lived in. This womens lib stuff has gone way too far. I don't know who's idea it was to give them the right to vote, but they should be shot if they aren't already dead. What ever happened to the glass ceiling???? If I catch her sitting in the tractor seat, then that will be the straw to break this mans back..... out she will go!!!!!
