Neighbor 2 doors down the road has a 2005. Great idea, worked well for the first 8 years, then started falling apart. Fast forward today, the floor is completely rotted out, the electrical harness is shot (a small treasure to replace), electrical gremlins all over, lots of custom parts that only Bobcat sells, they said they will never do it again.

It greatly depends if the Toolcat was used to plow snow where salt was present (parking lots and streets) or even worse, had a salter mounted on the back. Just like any long running model, most times there have been improvements along the way.

had a 2005 for 5 years, total time when traded in was 2750, still worked great, little rust on floors but the box sides rusted badly, prior to me buying it had a spreader in it from new for sidewalks

i have an 05, only 650 hours, no rust and runs great. i hope to have it for many years to come. its all in how you take care of it, and what you put it through. that little diesel should be good for 4-5 thousand hours if you maintain it right. just like anything else that is mechanical.
I have a 2011 F-Series 5610 with 1100 hours on it. Had to replace battery connection terminal, 1 hydraulic hose end (my fault; wasn't paying attention and tree limb broke connector on end of hose), high flow solenoid (not too difficult), tires (sliced one on a piece of metal; so replaced all 4; 1/3 - 1/2 tread left on others). All routine maintenance done on time. Hydraulic tank has a leak. I think it is where the hydraulic filter mounts onto the tank. There are some nuts there that are embedded in the plastic and it started leaking after I changed the hydraulic filter. Good thing is those nuts are high enough on the tank, that it only leaks when it is to the top of the sight glass. I bought a new tank, but it is sitting in my shop, don't plan on installing it unless something changes. That's all I can remember off hand, but it has been very reliable and I love it. Oh yeah, broke a fender bushogging and made a metal replacement.
I use if for everything around the house. Cut grass with it, till garden, lay plastic in garden, move dirt and rocks, box blade, dozer blade, rock rake, forklift, generator (made a hydraulic powered 12kw generator that lifts with forks), wood splitter (homemade), front mount bushog, auger for post setting and trailer hitch attachment for the 3 point hitch and as utility vehicle for going around on the land. It has performed admirably for all I have asked of it. Not the best tool for any one specific task, but it can do just about anything. It is still going strong and gets used frequently. Wish I had traction control like the G-series. I am patiently awaiting the release of the next series and I will upgrade. My hope is to be able to trade this in on an H-series (guess that is what it will be called) or to sell it while it is still good and buy one of the new ones.

Could you please provide more details on your wood splitter?
Had this pic on my phone. I had made a splitter with 5 ton cylinder and a weld on wedge mounted on the bottom where the current splitter is. It worked fine but pushed logs out the end and I had to reposition to split them again. My dad's wood splitter engine died and he bought a new one so I just took the whole splitter assembly and welded it on as pictured. It works great. I mainly use it to split large rounds into manageable pieces and finish them off on a regular ground based splitter. This rig is nice in that you can pick up and carry rounds as well with it and move them closer to where you want them. Fast cycle times with the high flow.
