Used tractors..where are they now?

Found this on the Web....

Used tractors are everywhere, but not all brands are still being made. Here is a list of defunct brands and their last known dates of manufacture.

Allis-Chalmers - 1985. Now a division of AGCO Corp.
Bolens-Iseki - 1988. Bolens now manufactured by Troy-Bilt.
Case-IH - 1999. Case now a subsidiary of New Holland.
David Brown - 1971. Sold as Case/David Brown until 1985.
Deutz-Allis - 1991. Deutz is now a division of AGCO Corp.
Deutz-Fahr - 1985. D-F merged with SAME Group in 1977.
Ford-New Holland - 1996. New Holland is now a subsidiary of Fiat.
Hesston-Fiat - 1991. Hesston is now a division of AGCO Corp.
IH-Farmall - 1985. Now a division of Case Corp.
Minneapolis-Moline - 1974. Assets purchased by White, a division of AGCO Corp.
Mitsubishi-Satoh - 1988. Mitsubishi is the OEM for pre-1995 Case compacts < 30HP and the current OEM for Cub Cadet compacts.
Oliver-Cockshutt - 1975.
Speedex - 1995. Assets purchased by Trans Tech International.
Yanmar - 1989. OEM for John Deere compacts < 40HP.

That is an interesting list you got there. The Mistubishis are now also manufactuers for Mahindra, too. The 15 series Mahindras are the same as the old Cub 7000 series. As far as I know for Yanmar, the small-chassis 4000 Ten JD compacts were entirely made by Yanmar. The mid-chassis and large-chassis 4000 Tens had Yanmar engines. The new 3000 Twenty series have updated Yanmar engines and the new 4000 Twenty series use JD Power Tech engines..

Oliver-Cockshutt - 1975. Oliver-Cockshutt also included Superior implements, Hart-Parr tractors and Cleveland Tractor Company which marketed Cletrac agricultural crawler tractors. Oliver was purchase by WHITE. White is now Agco.

 IH-Farmall - 1985. Now a division of Case Corp. Case is now Case/New Holland.

 Ford-New Holland - 1996. New Holland is now a subsidiary of Fiat. New Holland is now Case/New Holland. It is a subsidiary of Fiat, incorporated in Denmark(?) and listed on our stock exchange.

I guess it depends on what is meant by defunct. Yanmar is apparently still building the Ke series tractors in and for use in Japan, and they are showing up in the US as gray market.

Yanmar is still making tractors, just has a non competition agreement with John Deer that I understand will expire soon. Might see more of them soon.

Where does WHITE fit into this picture? The way I understand it Minn-Moline built the White brand from parts on the shelf. Decent tractors but kind of weird in layout.

White was the buyer of several companies in the 60's and 70's. They were a large truck manufacturing firm (Do you remember White Semi Trucks?) Mini-Moline was around long before White got involved in buying up companies like Oliver, etc. I don't know how White and MM are related but I don't think MM put White together. I do know that Oliver tractors changed their name from Oliver to White-Oliver after Oliver was purchased by White Industries and then several years later they dropped the Oliver part of the name and it just became White.

Yes, Bob you are right... it was an Oliver_White connection... not Mini-Moline. My mistake.
Dad has an old Oliver and an old Mini-Moline sitting in the pasture. We used the MM until several years ago (gee, used to be 'until a FEW years ago' /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif)
My brother in law recently came up with a White 105 cabbed tractor. Pretty nice but you can kind of tell it was cobbled together.

MTD apparently owns the lawn mower division of White.

MTD also owns: Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, YardMan, Ryobi, YardMachines, Bolens, White Outdoor, and McCulloch.
