Price Check Used TC40D - Fair Asking Price ???

I'm looking at the following used tractor. What would be a fair offer on this unit?

[*]R4 Tires (all 4 loaded w/CC)
[*]Woods LR107-2 Landscape Rake with Gauge Wheels and Flip Down Grade Blade
[*]Pallet Forks

The landscape rake is heavily used and a few of the tines are broken or missing. The FEL bucket is also heavily used and does not have the skid steer type quick attach device. It does have 3 chain hooks. The four pins must be pulled to swap the bucket & forks.

The tractor seems like it is in decent condition. The Tilt Steering seems to be out of commission but seems to be a fairly easy fix. There are minor scratches but no cracks in the plastic. There is no grille guard or mid-PTO. There are no remotes. The tires seem to have most of their treads. There are some good slices in the tread but the tires have never been plugged and have never leaked. If I did not mention the option, it's probably not on there.

The owner used it for his own landscaping and road grading. He moved a lot of ledge and granite with the FEL. He only used the rear-PTO a few times when he rented a Rotary Cutter.

What would be a fair offer? Fair, more so for me than him. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

In Dec 2002, I got my 34hr TC40D (probably a 2001 model) for an even $20K(+tax) from a dealer with:
16LA w/ QA plate, HD bucket, toothbar, pallet forks
single remote
loaded rears
All owners/service/parts manuals
Full set of filters
Grill guard
Plus still had 18 months/30 months warranty left

I'd offer in the $18-19K range (in the higher range if warranty left). Make sure battery acid problem, fan rubbing problem, cool engine problem and joystick issues have already been resolved if not under warranty. The rake is NICE and tines are about $9 each.

Where do you get the tines? I asked at several places and the net, but could not find any for sell.

Got mine at the local NH/Woods dealer (Theros in Warrenton, VA). BTW, they said, "Made in Italy."

Any idea what the rake and pallet forks above cost new?

Pallet forks on most of my quotes were about $650-900

York's version (THE orginal) I seem to recall was in the $1200-1400 range with wheels, blade, and scarifers. I paid $425 for a used 7' medium duty Woods in great shape (missing/bent 3 tines) without any options.
