I have narrowed my rotary cutter search down to a used Land Pride 1872 or a new King Cutter. They both will cost about $1200. The Land Pride is only two years old and still has warranty left on the gear box of three years. It looks in really good shape. I looked at both yesterday and it sure looks like the Land Pride is better built. I think I am leaning in that direction. Any thoughts?

If it were me, I would go with the Land Pride. I can't speak directly to the Land Pride 1872, but I have a Land Pride 90 inch grooming mower that I bought 20 years ago and and it's still on the original belt. I agree with you, the Land Pride products are very well built.

I like King kutter. Mows well and is easy to work on. It is not built as heavy as Land Pride.

For the same cost, I'd go with the used Land Pride. Two years from now, you would have a 4 year old used Land Pride or a 2 year old used King Kutter. I think I'd rather have the former.

But there are a lot of people that are happy with their King Kutter rotary mowers, finish mowers, tillers, etc. If you're just mowing grass (and not heavy brush), I'm sure either one would be just fine.

I'll vote for the Landpride also;purchased a new one last year and it has held up well.

I have a King cutter and for the price its a very good unit. I wouldn't be afraid of recommending one but if given the choice between this and a barely used LP unit at the same price, I would have gone with the LP.

Maybe average quality for the most part, but KK does have a heavy duty bush hog with good spec's that looks pretty good, at least in pic's. I haven't seen one (in person) though.

Still, having once owned a LandPride 15-48 4ft bush hog, I would have to go with the LP in this case as well.

That depends on what KK model medium duty or heavy duty same as land pride .Both companies have medium and heavy duty models.
