used L3130 HST

I am in the process of purchasing a 2004 L3130 HST it is a diesel, 4x4, hst. The tractor has 45 hours on it. I sell corporate aircraft equipment and took this tractor in on trade for an aircraft tug. I am looking for someone to share with me what kind of money this tractor should bring on a retail basis? Again my intention is to sell this thing and not have it sit around and collect dust because it is overpriced. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It will help to know all the options (loader model?, rear hydraulic remotes?, type of tires(ag or industrial), etc.

Location can be a factor too. If it's in good cosmetic shape you can make a good argument for saving on the sales tax (in some states) over cost of new. With 45 hours it's not even broke in yet.

It's brand new for all practical purposes. If it also looks new, it should be able to get 10% to 15% off what it sells for new in your area. Ask a local dealer what he wants for a comparable setup. Loader model, tires, TnT or top and tilt hydraulic cylinders on the rear instead of threaded adjustable linkages. Remember, in some areas like mine, it is also quite advantageous for a perspective buyer to purchase used from a 3rd party because they will not have to pay sales tax on it.

I am located in Indiana and as far as options are concerned I am pretty sure that it is just the tractor. If any one would be interested in contacting me directly via email so that I can send some pictures to possibly tell me some of the options that you see, it would be greatly appreciated. I talked to a local dealer and they have a compareable unit on the showroom with 20 hours and they want $15,279.00. I currently have it on ebay with a buy it now for $13,850.00 if this seems to high I would like to no. Again I would like to send some of the pictures to a more experianced individual who knows a little something about tractors because I do not.

Just a tractor and no loader? Even at that, your price is reasonable. If I was in the market, I would consider it. Remember, the major warranties are intact for 2 years regardless of owners. Would one pay sales tax on such a tractor in your state?

For someone in the market, your price is good.....if they can have it with no sales tax, even better. Often the biggest issue for folks trolling eBay for a new tractor( or any large equipment) is the shipping. If you can check into the shipping and arrange for delivery included ( bump your price up as necessary) you'll attract some really serious attention off eBay...otherwise you're just advertising for the local area...which may work out fine.

Sales tax in Indiana is 5.5% so the tax on $13,850.00 would be $761.75. Because I am a third party I will not have to charge sales tax. Maybe if I raised my buy it now price on ebay to $14,611.00 and offered to pay 761.00 of the shipping charge it would probably attract some attention. Any thoughts on this?

The shipping arrangements always seem to be a hassle. Perhaps scout out the available shipping outfits in your area, list a few names and numbers with your add and then, yes, offer to pick up a certian fixed amount. You might attract some folks who will then seriously scope out the shipping issue with your prompting and incentive.
If you look around on eBay you'll find other sellers who list trucking shipping companies in their ads...might be a place to start.
