I fear I made a costly mistake..... In doing a 50hr break in service of my Kioti. I went to top off the transmission/hydraulic fluid and instead of grabbing the right bottle for some reason I grabbed gear fluid, GL-5 80w90 to be exact. I put in 1-2 quarts tops. I did start the tractor and lower the front end loader from where I had it held up when I did the fluid change.

Do I have to change all fluid/filter?

If your really worried about it just drain the fluid and replace it. IMO you have not hurt anything .

Since it is a new tractor with warranty I would change the fluid and filter(s). You should not have any problems after this and I would think can continue after this to the next transmission fluid change (roughly 400 hrs. or what ever Kioti recommends). This will clear the system of oil not to specs and will also remove any manufacturing debris too.

I think it is worth the peace of mind knowing the wet clutch and brake materials are not damaged by the improper oil usage. No one I know wants to worry about a brand new tractor, life is too short for that.

Before winter just change to Synthetic Hyd. Fluid

It's not going to hurt anything. They are both gear oil. And contrary to popular belief, about the same viscosity.

My GC2310 manual allows for me to use regular 80W gear oil in the transmission, if I wanted to.

I wouldn't worry about it until the next change interval. There is no easy way to completely remove all the oil in the system, even if you had to.

Given the quantities involved, I agree.

Other than the smell, (gear always seems to stink) you simply have introduced a tad of additional ingredients (molly?) that is intended to provide less friction.
A petroleum chemical engineer I once knew told me that hydraulic oil was simply the cheapest product they made and for that reason he ran his tractor on SAE 30 non detergent rather than hydraulic oil.
In fact I understand some equipment specifies plain SAE oils vs hydraulic.

Thanks for all the info, after much consideration especially since it's under warranty I'm just going to dump the oil and put in fresh.

My system holds 11 gallons. A couple quarts of something else wouldn't worry me any.

Do as you like. But, don't fear the warranty reaper.

I know of no one on TBN who has ever been denied a warranty claim, because of their oil.

They don't even check. If it fails under warranty, it's going to be because of a major defect. One that they will likely already know about. Lubrication won't be a factor.
