Used fluids

How/where do you dispose of your used motor oil and hydraulic fluid? Also, do you drain both (mix) into the same container?

I take mine to an Autozone store. No, I don't mix fluids...probably doesn't matter, but I don't.

I usually use used fluids for lighting brush piles I am burning. You can also get a waste oil burner for heating a garage or workshop. If burning is not an option, you can do like Roy say's and take it to your local parts store/garage if they recycle thier waste oil.

The garage that changes the oil in our company trucks takes all oils and hydro fluids for their waste oil furnace. They told me I could mix it all together. Different users may ask to keep them separate...............chim

I collect all my oil in 5-gallon containers. There unusually is about 20 gallons before I take them to the Township hazardous waste collection day. It takes a couple of years before I collect that much since I don’t do my trucks or boat myself anymore. /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif
I put antifreeze in a seperate container. But all oils go in the same container

AutoZone/Auto parts store... never thought of that. I stopped doing oil changes on my truck a long time ago, after finding a fairly reliable lube-in-a-box. I'll check around locally to see what's available. Come to think of it, I think I saw a haz liquid waste drop off area at the dump, uh, waste transfer station. The waste oil furnace sounds promising, tho I don't know anything about them. I'll do a search and do some studying on them.
