I currently own a BX24 with a 60" MMM, weight box, and 60" Brush hog rake. I am moving into a new home soon and will need a much larger machine.
B2920? Though I have approx 140hrs on it now, My dealer thinks I should attempt to sell it outright. Says it is worth in the range of $14,000. Does this sound right?

The thing that bites you on something like this is that most folks don't have $14k laying around in the cookie jar. So you will face an inevitable comparison with people shopping a NEW BX24 or BX25.

At 0% from Kubota, the payments will be close to a Prime or Prime +1% HELOC necessary for most folks to spring for that type of coin. Plus, they don't have to put their house on the block when taking out a loan with Kubota.

Therefore, the $14k price makes sense on a nearly new (as long as it was stored inside and has no battle scars) BX24 given that a new one will cost $17.5k, but you will be fighting the "payment battle". I think you'll get some nibbles, but don't be too offended if you end up having to take another grand or so off in final negotiations.

Just my thoughts.

sounds about right to me, I got $15,800 for my 3yo BX23, 200 hours, with 60 MMM but I also gave the bagger and front blade back, the reason I opted for trade is that I was able to take $15,800 in sales tax out of play on my new B3030, that is another $950 dollars, so in my eyes I got $16,750 for the package and there was no messing around, drop one off and pick one up. What I found in the short time that I advertised my tractor is that plenty of people wanted the tractor but no one wanted it all and I didn't want to be stuck with a BX23 mower, blade and bagger.

Thanks for the Info, 17.5 plus tax vs 14. Savings of 5 grand, Who knows, Maybe there will be some takers.

You may want to consider both a private sale and a trade in. Car dealerships will typically allow you to arrange a private sale and during your transaction, they show it as a trade in and sale the trade in to the 3rd party at the same time. Basically you get the full value of a private sale (which is almost always more than trade in) and the tax benefit. Keep in mind that you do have the added difficulty of finding an interested party that is willing to coordinate showing up at the dealership to sign papers at the same time you finalize your own sale.
IN the end you get more for your tractor (usually) you save the tax and the dealership has no inventory that they now have to try to markup and sell.
While I have not done this with tractor dealerships, my guess is that they differ little from the car sales format and I am certain it works well there.

B2920?

A B2920 is not a much larger machine. When I was looking for a new machine, the B2920 did not seem all that much bigger than my Case subcompact, which was the same size as your BX24. The FEL bucket was only 1" wider than my subcompact's 48" bucket.

If you need a "much larger machine", then you should start with the B7800/B2630/B3030 size.

Take a look at the comparison pics between the B2920 and B3030 that I posted in this thread:

I just recently bought an 07 with 37hrs with FEL and BH for 12k and consider myself lucky. I've ben watching for a while and notice that people seem to go a bit nuts bidding on these on ebay. If I were you I'd put it up there and start it at your minimum asking price (14k) no reserve. I'm sure it'll go.

I say 14 is about good here. My take is: all Used bs24-13K, mower 1.2K, brush 500+
