I went to see my dealer the other day to BS and he mentions a "load of junk out back" that was just traded for. So we ride around back to check it out. Among the junk is a Kodiak HD 8' pull type bush hog he thinks I might like and shoots a price of $800. Acting like I was less than impressed I told him it wasn't worth that. With out missing a beat he comes back with $700. I just changed the subject to something else with out saying another word about it.

I went back the next day to check it out knowing good and well he was gone. It looks okay for what it is. Actually it looks hardly used. It had obviously spent time with cattle walking around and over it, probably beside a barn somewhere.
The only thing that bothers me even a little is that the blades looks like they're too loose. Easy to tighten but I'm worried being loose could have worn the mounting holes for the blades in the center pan.

I have a nice 15' Rhino and don't really need this one but could use it. I'm thinking of offering him $650 to see what he says. What do you all think? Is it even worth that? Anybody have one of these? I understand its not a Brown Tree Cutter but for $650 can I go wrong?

$650 sounds like an OK price but I never saw how it hooks to the tractor.

I would think if you want something more narrow for fence rows, road banks, etc you would just go with a 7-8' 3PH cutter?

I don't really even want the stupid thing but if $650 was a heck of a deal I'd take it. I've gotten pretty good at trimming fence rows with the 15', it's no worse than a disc mower.

If you have a use for it then I don't think you could go wrong for 650. I imagine you'd be able to clean it up and sell it for a couple hundred profit if it's in good shape. I don't think it's the steel of the century or anything but it does seem like it should be worth more than that.

If you don't need it or don't have any use for it, then I don't know if it's worth the trouble.
