Tractor
Kubota B2710
I currently have a 2002 B7500 with 115 hours on it. I have a LA302 48" FEL with turf tires and a mid mount 54" mower. Love the tractor, but need a little more.

The dealer has a used 2002 B2710 he just got in with only 34 hours on it. It has a LA402 54" FEL with loaded industial tires. It still has 2 years left on the warrenty. He will put on a new rear mount (at my request) 60" mower. It is in excellent shape. The swap will cost me $4,900 ($10,300 for my B7500 and $15,200 for the B2710.

I have two questions:

1. What are your thoughts/experiences with the B2710? Is it a good tractor and a work horse?

2. What are your thoughts on the price? The dealer has always treated me fairly and the service is top notch.

3. I am also looking to get a Woods 7500 backhoe with a 16" bucket and subframe. The dealer told me the cost would be $6,200. How is this for a price? Any experience with the Woods backhoes? Are they reliable and work well?

By the way, this is my first post on this forum. I look forward to learning from all of your experiences and knowledge!

Thanks for your opinions . . . Rob

The one you want to talk to is Bird Senter. He had a 2710 Kubota for quite a while and he is very knowledgable about that particular tractor.

RobinVT,

Welcome to TBN! Just out of curiousity, have you priced a new B7800 in comparison to the used B2710? Might also be within your finances, plus you get a couple extra horsepower and a brand new tractor. Just a thought.

The B2710 is a nice tractor, but I believe it's sales numbers are a bit down with the introduction of the B7800. (The B7800 is the same frame and drive train as the B2910, but the tractor doesn't have all the "bells and whistles" found on the B2910.) I have a 60" bucket on my B2910, and I prefer the wider width.

As far as the Woods backhoe goes, I have a Woods 7500 on my B2910 with 16" & 8" buckets, subframe and separate pump. I don't use it a lot, but from what I've done so far, it's been really good. Your price might be a bit high, but here in New England, that seems to always be the case.

You seem comfortable with this dealer. That's important and a good starting point.

I'd inquire about a new B7800 or even B2910 (rates are still low, might as well take advantage of them).

Good Luck,

~Rick

The 27-2910 tractors are good tractors and workhorses.

I'm not sure about the price. It may be a little high. But your area may get more for tractors. Does that include the mower?

$6200 is high for a Woods 7500. Most of the quotes for that model have been around $5500. The Woods line of backhoes has had good reviews on TBN.

Actually I started out looking at the B7800. With the 402 FEL, loaded industrial tires, and a rear mount 60" mower it would cost me $6,800 in trade. I know it would have 30 hp compared to the B2710's 27 hp, but I really like to B2710. With only 34 hours, it is practically new and still has 2 years of warrenty.

Ronjhall, all prices include the rear mount mower, 402 FEL, and loaded industrial tires.

Rob,

The 7800 with folding ROPS, mid PTO and 402 FEL range is $15-15.6K then a RFM 72" adds $1,650 so a great price is $16,700 range less your $10,300 trade is $6200. I would think this is the preferable path esp since you can finance at 0% and have a new unit.

Regarding BH pricing the Woods 7500 Sub with new tractor is $5000-5100 range. But you can get a Bradco 3375 for $5517 which has the 4 point systen with subframe.

My cousin just bought a 7800 package as follows from Woodbury Tractor a CT dealer

B7800 Folding ROPS Mid PTO
LA 402 FEL
Bradco 3375 - 4 Point BH with Subframe (like Kubota TLB's)
ATI Quick Attach Bucket
ATI Pallet Forks
72" RFM (Woods)

Price was less than $26K to give you some idea.

Hi,

In addition to what has been said above, I have a 60" RFM on my B2910, but now I wish I would have went with a 72" RFM.

A 72" would stick out a bit more on each side and make mowing close to drop offs and so on easier and more comfortable...

So I would suggest if you do go with the b2710...consider a 72" RFM. Now or never...was for me anyway...

Robin, I went from a '95 B7100 to the '99 B2710 and sure never regretted it. I know nothing about the backhoe, but otherwise, I'd say go for it. I think you'll be pleased with the B2710.

Thanks for the reply guys.

One additinal question for you. Is there a hugh difference between having 27 hp and 30 hp? I would be mainly using the tractor for mowing the lawn (rear mount), plowing snow with the FEL and a 5' rear blade, and brush hogging with a 4 footer. Additional tasks would require the use of a york rake and a backhoe (Woods 7500). So would I see a difference with the 3 additional hp?

Thanks again . . . Rob
