hoping for some help here, i haven't had much luck on google or searching on here. the local ritchie brothers auction has an ursus 4824 4wd cab tractor coming up for auction. if it is cheap enough it would make a good tractor for my uncles farm and then i wouldn't need to drag mine up and down the road. so far i have found out it ursus was built in poland under license from massey ferguson. this particular tractor is an 04 with 146 hours, 2 sets of outlets and a little sun damage. the tractor is 65hp, can't find out if that is engine or pto (i think it's pto) and the open station weighs 6200. does anyone have any more info? does anyone know what MF tractor woud be the equivalent?

to update.... the 4824 is not an exact copy of any MF tractor past or present. it is very similar to several, but not the same it uses a different perkins motor it is a "green" motor to conform to pollution standards (i guess). for this reason i was scared of making a mistake. if i could read polish it might have been different, Ursus still exists in poland and still builds lots of tractors, but i struggled to learn anything. the tractor wound up selling for 6000

I think that was a very low price for the tractor. The Perkins engine it used is listed as a 1004-40 which means 4 liter naturally aspirated. It would be either non-emissions regulated or Tier1 as I think they changed to the 1100 series at 4.4 liters with Tier 2. Pretty common engine with parts available through Perkins or Caterpillar dealers - for Cat it was a 3054 engine, same engine except for paint and name plate. License built, like you found out, doesn't mean identical. Some components would be identical, likely the 8 x 2 transmission. I saw auction prices in the $10k range but I didn't know if the tractor you were looking at was the 2wd or MFWD version.

Darn iPad won't let me look back while typing so I now see the one you were looking at was the top of the line MFWD with cab and remotes. Sounds like whomever bought it got a very good deal. I did find that the tractors are close enough that Massey loaders fit.
