Does anyone have any experience/knowledge of this tractor? I have been looking for a compact tractor but a dealer is offering me a Ursus tractor, 38 HP with 85 hours on it, for 10,900. He also offered a 6 ft finishing mower ($1095) and a 6 ft bushhog ($795).

I've been looking at NH Boomer 24 and Kubota BX22 both with 5 ft MM mowers, but figure that a larger tractor may allow me to do more work later on (if I decide to). At this time I plan on using it for grass cutting on 5 acres, some gardening, and some grading work from time to time.

I just wanted to see if anyone knew much about Ursus, or point me to a website so I can check out the history.

Thanks

It’s a good looking Russian/Polish made tractor, from what I can see. Do a google search for ‘Ursus Tractors’.

It looks like it has had a short, but interesting history. Some good reading. I don’t know if they have a good distribution network for parts etc. Where are you located?

Good luck, Welcome to TBN, and enjoy tractor shopping /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. KennyV.

This is a site that shows some models pictures specs. options and prices. http://www.buyequipment.net/ursus.htm

The URSUS tractors are Polish made. The webside is in polish, but you may see some pictures

This Ursus 2812 or 3512 is equal To MF231, which is buil in Poland, too. As you can see, design is MF too.
Owners here liked 3512, as other Ursus tractors.
They are litle rough, but strong and reliable machines

Strong and reliable is good, when you say rough what do you mean? The tractor is not that common in the states and I'd like to know as muxh as I can about it.

Ask MF dealer about 231. They are equal.
Like old 135, just different hood.
Old school tractor, sliding gear tranny, mech steering, no bells and whistless like new CUT-s.
These tractors are 20-30y old technology /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif but proven design /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Here they are equipped with compressor and air brakes for trailor.
Never had one, but seems good. Here were models 3512 more common.

I don't like them, as they are slow on road, and we need fast tractor (lot of road use), but this is my opinion /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks. I'll probably continue to look at some of the compact tractors as they will most likely be more effective on 5 acres. If I had 15 or 20 acres, I'd give it more consideration.

This is a great site, with a great community.

Thanks to all for your input.

TNMIKE53.... welcome to TBN. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif From what little I know.... the Ursus is basically a generic Massey Ferguson without the price tag.

My concern is that I can't find out much about it. Although the little I have been able to find out makes its sound better than some of the Chinese tractors I've checked into. As stated earlier I will continue to check around. Thanks
