Looking for information on how to protect sound files.....let's say an mp3 of a tractor running to make this post appropriate....from being copied/saved, but still allow them to be played from a link on our website. I am moderately proficient with Front Page, which is what is used to maintain our website. Beyond that I am lost in html. I appreciate any helpful suggestions. Thanks.

I understand that nothing is completely theft proof...I'm simply looking to make it "not simple" primarily for ownership issues. So then the listener just listens to the file, then searches their machine for the most recent files and there it is sitting in their cache. Then they just have to copy it and paste it in another folder somewhere on their PC and they have it. I think there are better ways than disableing the right click function, I just do not know what they are. I ain't savvy in web design. I'm surprised no one has offered any other tactics yet.
Disabling right click would discourage some, but anyone that is determined to get the file would continue.
Maybe making it into a flash object would make it a little harder, because anyone that wanted to capture it would have to download a program that captures flash media. There are lots of free programs out there to do that, and, again, I think anyone that wants the sound file will find a way to get it.

I don't know how one could stop someone who really wants the file. Its has to be downloaded in some fashion. So one can only try to make it harder to "get" the file, Security by obscurity and obsfucation.
