Buying Advice Update on Purchase: Kubota M7060

If this park brake issue endemic to the 7060 why does Kubota not have a fix? No brand bashing here. I'm a Kubota fan.
Could be because people still buy them as is. If a person doesn't like the "mechanics" of a particular tractor, don't buy one. I do agree, from what I read here, it would be much nicer to have a more positive parking brake system.

If I had need for a larger tractor than my Kubota L5060 which I just purchased a year ago, it would have been Kubota's 7060 with a 12 speed transmission.

My 2012 M9540 uses a cable operated separate park lever. It's integrated with the gear selector lever which is also cable operated. You cannot engage the park lever with the trans in gear, must be in neutral. Also cannot select a trans gear with the park lever engaged.

On the 60 series they completely integrated the two systems into one lever. Park is a selection with the gear lever just as selecting any other gear. This system is linkage operated.

It's been reported by owners of both that the linkage system works better.

I believe the OP's situation is fixable by a linkage adjustment.

In SOME cases the lack of a friction parking brake does not appear obvious until AFTER the sale.
With 20/20 hind sight maybe the 8 speed version WITH a hand lever operated friction parking brake would have been a "better" choice in many ways.
Unfortunately in our case the up sell to "twelve is more than eight, so that must be better (for only slightly more money)" was foisted upon us.

Option A;
Sell the damned thing at a loss (barely a month old).
Option B;
Research the 8 speed version's parts schematic in search of what it would take to upgrade to a hand lever operated friction parking brake.
This isn't very far fetched; lever, cable, equalizer, maybe a few linkage pieces. Chances are any needed holes through sheet metal are already in the floor pan and/or wheel well.
Option C;
Live with it.
Yeah, bit that is SO aggravating.

Very understandable. With all the bells and whistles and the anticipation of purchasing a new tractor, sometimes the very basic things can be overlooked.
