Update on my 3820 smoke problem, from early this summer.
Tractor was deliverd to my house with a bad smoke issue.
This was late spring time, early summer?
I waited and waited for a fix, finaly at 45 hours on the tractor
I took it in for the 50 hr service and to get the somke issue fixed.
A check valve was installed and the injector timming was advanced.
I thought it ran worst, because it did!
I then called Branson, they (Dave) 'I think' was very
up to getting the problem resolved.
Anyway after nearly 5 weeks of off & on wrenching on this
thing, changing out every part of the fuel system including the
injectors & pump, it still was not fixed.
I had to finaly tell my dealer that I'm done with this tractor!
It has been wrenched on way to much for a new tractor,
not to mention I know where the unburned fuel goes!
Let me say this, I think the tractor is very well built!
My dealer has tried to get it fixed, Branson also wants
me and the tractor to be happy.
So after telling the dealer I'm done with it, he says OK
I'll get back with you soon.
Calls me back and says it's fixed!
After all the work that had been done, they installed another
check valve and a new extended glow timer.
Thing is I'm done with it! This has gone on for far to long!
Not a good way to brake in a new motor, pumping fuel
into the oil, or wrenching on it so much, **** it's new.
Anyway I sugested I pay the difference on a new 4720.
They offerd me my tractor back, fixed? or another 3820
that they have their, that I know had a somke issue also
but not near as bad as mine, or the 4720 plus the price difference.
I'll be gettin the 4720 with a new timer installed to help insure
there's no smoke issue on start up with it.
BRANSON & MY DEALER HAVE TRIED TO DO THE RIGHT THING!
I just dont want a tractor thats been put through the ringer like the one I had.
Wish me luck on the 4720
BTW not only did it somke really bad on start up, it also
would throw a puff of smoke about every 2 seconds when warm?
Thanks for reading.
