We just took possession of 36 acres along side a major river. I would start to setup underground sprinklers around the house and in the garden area. The lawns are mostly quack grass so I would like to see them get into more of a fescue.
In the future I would like to develop the grass along side of the road which is about a 1/2 mile in length.
I purchased a roll of 2" poly pipe for what I thought would be the main water pipe and I would run the usual 3/4" poly off the main line.
Their is a good dugout that the former owner has indicated is quite deep - I am guessing 20 feet and is about 200' by 75'. If needed I can pump from the river which is about 30' below the dug out.
Sorry for the long preamble.
What do you think I need for pumps. Our main house well pump is only a few feet from the dugout so I have electricity very close.
What kind of pump would be best to pump up from the river - I do not have any power down by the river so likely a gas pump will be needed. Would the usual 2" Honda pump be adequate to pump about a 100 yards with the 30' rise?
Would I need pump stations as I get farther away from the dugout? I golf a little bit and I have noticed any on the course although they could be hiding but the way I hit some shots I normally get to see some of the out the way places on the courses.
Thanks for your suggestions.
