I need to chose between a jinma284 or a lenar (mahindra28hp.) Does anyone have any comments about or any knowledge about both?
Thanks Guys Mike

i would definetly stay away from the Jinma, parts, service? that is a major part of it. if the Lenar is part of Mahindra then i would bet the parts and service would be a little better.

I own a jinma 254 and also bought a nortrac dozer basically same thing. When/if I need another tractor I won't 2nd quess jinma{nortrac, or whatever name they go by}. I have beat my machine and it has yet to let me down. Parts are not hard to come by, infact I believe there are a couple of dealers that visit this site. IMO, bang for buck, you can't beat them.

Funny. My Jinma 254 with nearly 700 hard hours has been amazing. Replaced the thermostat and a starter that still worked but was giving me issues. I also own a Ford tractor and the Jinma has been easier to get the parts for and is a true work horse like the tractors of the 60's

Chris, did you, would you buy from the lowest priced seller? Such as Rural King? Or would you pay a premium to have a brick and mortar dealer surcharge you for his expertise in prepping the unit? Thoughts?

Edit: I took this question to a new thread on Chinese Tractors.

eh.. what ford tractor.. surely not the 860 in your profile... you can get every part front to rear for that machine.. most of them new manufacture, or new old stock.. with a few parts being readilly available salvage.

I could give you a dozen names and number to locate an 8xx or compatible machine being parted at -ANY- given time.

i agree, Ford is proabbly one of the easiest older tractor to get parts for, there are a bunch of them out there. your dealer must not be in the loop or be a good stockign dealer.
