Got a phone call about driveshaft with broken u joint. JD part # 5BP1003020C, not available at local dealer has to be shipped in, $42 and change. Of course, JD part numbers arent easy to interchange. This u joint is 27 x 70mm (size 3) on a eurocardan pto shaft (owners paperwork). Funny thing is (to me), the eurocardan catalog I have doesnt list any size 3 yokes or joints. Digging some more turns up a eurocardan part # 1003020, which is available at agrisupply for $23.99. This joint is also a Moog # 813 if you happen to have a real auto parts supplier ( not autozone or advance
)
Also available at driveshaftparts , GUA7, for $7.97 (11.00 shipping on 2), cheaper than getting one from JD.
Bottom line, no clue who actually made this pto shaft, thought maybe it was Bondioli and Pavesi (Cardan) but that didnt pan out. How far down the line does OEM rebranding/renumbering really go?
