The TYM T474 cab tractor at Smiths enterprise looks real attractive, 48.3 HP with an Kukje 4 cyl engine and a shuttle cab tractor with a trailer for $27,777 or 25,277 w/o trailer without haggling. I love the Kukje engine its a 4 cyl without a turbo, the turbo is kinda a pain in the putute to me as every time i work my tractor hard i have to idle the engine 3 to 5 minutes to cool the turbo down to keep the turbo from kokin the oil from heat in the turbo.
From what i have seen the TYM Tractor looks great .

I believe i am wrong about the kukje 48.3 hp engine on the TYM with no turbo, i think it does have a turbo or it shows one on the Branson 48.3 engine, i really want to get away from the turbo engine.

No I think the the TYM 474 shows the Kukje A2300N2

N stands for Naturally aspirated

Not to high jack the thread but since you mentioned the HP of the TYM T474 and I just purchased a cab version of this tractor, I noticed something concerning about the PTO HP rating. TYM does not have the PTO HP listed on their site for the HST version of the 474 just the shuttle shift. The shuttle shift is listed at 35.9 PTO HP. Just doing the math 48.3 gross HP to 35.9 HP at the PTO is a drop of 12.4 HP. I found a brochure at the dealer which had the HST version at 32.3 PTO HP:yuck: which is an even further PTO HP loss of 16 HP. That would be unheard of for a tractor to lose that much HP going to the PTO. I mean why have 48.3 HP if you can't get more of it to the PTO to do work. I contacted my dealer and all they could tell me was what the brochure said and although they found it to be concerning had no idea why it would drop so much PTO HP. I then reached out to TYM via email to see if they could provide more detail as to whether this was a typo. I received a run of the mill response from a rep at TYM headquarters that said basically they have 35.9 PTO HP listed. Essentially copied what was available on the TYM website and emailed it back to me:thumbdown:, disregarding my concern about the HST version PTO HP rating from their brochure. I emailed back asking for an engineer or specifications specialist to review but have not heard anything back yet. I did reach out to Tony's tractor adventure (thanks Tony:thumbsup and he reported a rep at TYM told him the PTO HP for the T474 HST was rated at 41 PTO HP. This is more in line with what one would expect from a 48.3 HP tractor. The Branson 4720Ch is very similar tractor with same engine A2300N2 and PTO HP for this tractor is 41 HP. Anyone else find TYM listed rated PTO HP concerning for the T474?

My guess would be they dyno test and reduce their actual finding by a certain percent to account for variables and claims of false advertising.

Hello Sir. Thank you for your service. To be honest I haven't had a lot of time under the wheel yet, but I can tell you some things I like and dislike about the unit so far. I really like the features it comes standard with, some of those being; rear and front working lights & wipers, radio, ac/heat (and the ac gets cold), nice suspension seat w/arm rests. The engine looks fairly straightforward and a lot of the things that need service are easily accessible. I think the following could use some work. The area to sit things in the cabin is small, I have an Iphone 8 (large one) with a case and there is no where to lay it flat in the cabin. It did not come with USB outlets only the 12v cig lighter charger and I think the 494 comes with both. They advertise the 474 as 3rd function valve ready, however my experience with this is that to get 3rd function it will still cost you in the ballpark of 850-900 + tax. From the TYM literature that I have seen it does appear that there is a specific setup that requires a bracket and hoses only but my dealer isn't using that and is instead installing the WR Long aftermarket valve kit (I found this out after the fact), which in reality defeats the whole purpose of the 3rd function ready loader valve. This basically requires you to use the aftermarket joystick as well to operate the loader and 3rd function which IMO is a downgrade from the factory joystick.

The tractor is very strong with its lift capacity at the hitch lift and the loader. I moved a crate of natural stone weighing roughly 800-1000 lbs. with ease using the loader. The throttle is responsive and overall has smooth feel of operation. Its too soon to determine if parts/service will be an issue going forward, however from my experience getting the 3rd function up and running it appears there may be some lack of knowledge at the dealers about the 3rd function ready valve. Not sure if it is an up-sale to put on the WR Long aftermarket valve kit vs. adding a bracket and hoses to the 3rd function ready valve kit or if the parts are not available from TYM to use the 3rd function ready valve set up. My dealers explanation was, "this is how we've always done them."

My advise would be to get the 3rd function added at the factory if that is important to you and you wish to utilize the 3rd function ready loader valve functionality. If I have any more thoughts as I begin to use the tractor more I will try to get them posted. All in all, I think the value of the TYM 474 vs. a comparable model with the competition is really a no brainer. You get more tractor and upgrades for fives to tens of thousands $ less. I literally spec'd out tractors from the big 2 locally that were very similar comparison to the TYM 474 and they were 10k+ more than the 474. There are 3 TYM dealers all within 1h to 1h 35 min. drive for me so I am hoping service and parts won't be an issue moving forward. 2 of the dealers have been selling them for several years.
