BX2230
I currently have Kubota BX2230 but need a FEL. Looking at these two models. Neither dealer is close by but like the options of both. The Yanmark is $16900. The TYM $18200. I have not see either personally yet but intend to before I buy. I have a few question on these models I am sure I'll find out when I get to the dealer. But in the mean time maybe you can help with a few answers. What are the hoods material made out of? Do both have position control? What are the bucket sizes? I've compared the specs and on paper the TYM has more options, but at a higher price tag. I haven't seen a head to head comparison on the web. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance.

TYM is Korean.
Yanmar is Japan.

Both those models use the Yanmar engines. So it's nearly comparing apples to apples, yet one is the golden delicious and the other a Gala.

TYM at times is lacking on the support side where bringing the machine in for some repair could take many weeks or months, yet with Yanmar its a week to a few weeks.

For 60 years Kujie supplied parts to Yanmar and Yanmar licensed Kujie to build Yanmars in Korea in the large F series models. In the past 5 or so years, TYM acquired Kujie. The 3 companies all work with one another.

TYM is partnered with Yanmar to also make RK (Rural King Tractors). If you live near an RK store, you could find a machine to your liking close by. The RK24 matches the two machines you are interested as well. And it's only $15K. Add a mere $500 and it comes with a CAB !!!! What a deal if you live in the north and move snow !!! Or in the south needing AC. Yes, it has the Yanmar engine.

The Yanmar has the 10 YEAR powertrain warranty too. It even covers the PTO and all the gearing. Now, the SA series is mostly Sub-Compact. Are you certain this is what you are after? The SA series can not use a post hole digger due to the tiny rear wheels. The machine isn't tall enough. Other than issues similar to that, I would lean towards the SA overall.

I don't think you can go wrong with either of those models, though I am biased towards Yanmar.

It may come down to the dealer if their proximity is similar. I drive 45 minutes to the established Yanmar dealer but I have one about 20 minutes away now also.

Sit on them both and go with the one you feel most comfortable on.

You get bigger rear tires on the Yanmar SA425.

THanks for the reply. I the RK T25 would be the comparable to the TYM T25. Looks to be the same tractor. Not sure if the RK will be discontinued in the future if TYM is make more of presence. The cab is actually $3200 +$500 from what I can gather. But dont need the cab. I enjoy feeding the yellow jackets....lol. Price wise the RK25 is on par with the TYM.

Nothing against the RK tractors, they probably are a good tractor. The long term and even the current support of them would be my concern.

Even if RK goes south, TYM and Yanmar would pick up the customer base. A win-win of sorts for them. Yanmar already did this with the Cub Cadets.

New TYM T25 cash price $17400. Leaning that direction.

TYM seems more committed to the US tractor market than Yanmar
