TYM 293-HST
I am looking at a used 2009 TYM 293 HST with a front loader and Erskine 60" front mount/rear PTO snowblower (601-FM). The blower seems large for the tractor, to me, but it was dealer installed when the tractor was new. Is it properly sized ?
The tractor has about 365 hours on it. The original purchaser was a homeowner, so the remainder of the warranty is transferrable. What should I be willing to pay for it ? Used TYM prices are hard to find on-line. I also posted in the buy/price forum, but nobody else has posted there in a month and a half.:(

Waterbug,

Do you have a link or pictures so we can take a look at it? I am not familiar with TYM but it depends a lot on condition. Around $15k for good condition I would say.

Here are a couple of pictures. As already stated, it has about 365 hours and still has 1 year of 3 year bumper to bumper warranty left, 4th year of parts and labor drive train and 5th year parts only drive train warranty.

Where is Goodrich, Michigan ? I'm in Kalkaska.

EDIT: Just answered my own question about the blower size. The tractor is 56" wide, so a 60" blower is appropriate.

South and east of you, near Flint.

That snowblower does look rather large, I would ask how well it has thrown snow. I see you said that a loader is included but what else? My best guesstimate would be about $16k with the blower. But I am only going off a new price of around $18k w/o a blower and a couple grand for the blower and I would feel fair to offer $16k. What is he asking?

He was asking $14K, but I have negotiated lower. It's a private party sale.

Shows my knowledge on TYM's. Never dealt with one of them before. Good luck though, from what I here they are excellent machines and people really love them:thumbsup:

From what I've been able to find on the net, you probably aren't too far off on the price. I think that I've stumbled onto a deal.

There are many variables that will determine performance with a blower, the HP, Speed, Depth of snow and type of snow, heavy wet vs light fluffy.

The setup pictured should work OK as long as you match your speed, depth and width of cut up to the type of snow fall you are dealing with.

I talked to a very informative TYM dealer about the Erskine vs TYM branded blowers. His response was that the Erskine would handle a greater volume of snow but wouldn't throw the distance a TYM blower would. He stated that if making a cut on a 100 foot driveway, the Erskine would finish a tractor length ahead of the TYM blower. Tractor is 53" wide, so the 60" blower is sized right. Thanks for the response.
