TYM 273HST Wont Move

I have a 2006 TYM 273HST with 400 pretty easy hours on it. A couple days ago I was smoothing out a small high spot in my yard a with my box blade. When I went from forward to reverse it made a popping sound followed by a noise that sounds like a heavy rattling grinding sound from underneath. The noise changes somewhat with throttle. Everything works except the PTO and it wont move in 2WD or 4WD. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. I can't find anyone locally that can look at it before 2-4 weeks

I know very little about this. But if I was faced with several weeks of waiting I'd do a few things. One would be to crawl underneath the machine and look for anything obvious- driveline, linkage etc. The next thing I'd do is trace the forward/neutral/reverse linkage and see if that failed in some way. It sounds like it is either stuck between forward and reverse or you had an internal failure. It may take two people to trace the linkage- one to rattle the lever and one underneath looking.

Pretty sure those that responded are correct in their guesses of the problem. You are going to need a new driveshaft. Couple of threads here that show the problem in detail.
