TX1510 replacement water pump second question

ok the replacement pump comes with 2 gaskets and a steel plate which covers the impeller (the fan like thing that circulates the coolant) however if it is assembled with the plate in place it doesn't line up with the alternator and crankshaft pulley that drives the water pump; if I take the plate out however it does line up..when I look at the K3B Parts manual it has the plate and the 2 gaskets anyone advise please??

Did the old one have the plate and gaskets? Is the new water pump thicker in some way than the old one?

No the old one didn't have any plate or gasket
